Major academic and technical achievements
Professor Haruo Sawada has been engaged in education and scientific research for decades. In the field of applied remote sensing, there are more than 80 s in the field of ecosystem assessment, natural disasters and global environmental studies. In the field of remote sensing applications, it has made outstanding contributions to improve the technology and means of remote sensing application and the sustainable development of ecosystem health. Several recent studies have included the rehabilitation monitoring of the East Japan earthquake disaster, the forest environment monitoring in the context of global warming, the carbon assessment of the Amazon rainforest, and the seasonal changes of the forest environment in the Mekong River basin.
